The story of a passionate advocate for adaptive skiing and disability inclusion
A passionate skier, instructor, and high-level coach, Marc Gostoli discovered adaptive skiing in 1985 and dedicated himself to designing sit-ski chairs for individuals with disabilities. Driven by the desire to bring the joy of skiing to everyone with physical, mental, or sensory disabilities, he began developing his first models, tailored to meet diverse needs.
In 1995, Marc founded Europe’s first ski school exclusively for people with disabilities. Two years later, the association “Antenne Handicap” opened its doors in La Plagne, providing members with unique access to adaptive equipment like the Gotoski for standing skiing and the Xbifree sit-ski chair.
In 2008, his company GM System expanded by developing and marketing new devices, evolving into Snowskut in 2019. Today, Marc is proud to see numerous ski resorts adapting their facilities to make their ski areas accessible to all. From his workshop in Ardèche, he designs, manufactures, assembles, and tests each device, giving users across Europe the chance to enjoy the same thrilling skiing experience as able-bodied skiers. Snowskut’s innovations continue to broaden the horizons of skiing for all forms of disability.
Testimonials: They discovered the freedom of standing skiing with the Gotoski
I have Cerebral Palsy and discovered twelve years ago that I could ski standing up thanks to the Gotoski. The first few days were challenging because I was convinced I wouldn’t be able to keep my balance. However, as I went down the slopes, I began to appreciate the joy of standing and skiing like everyone else.
After my sessions, I felt the therapeutic benefits: my posture improved, my muscle tone increased, and my balance got better, all thanks to the Gotoski.
Floriane
A lightning strike made me a triple amputee, and I thought I would have to ski sitting down. When I was given the opportunity to try stand-up skiing with a Gotoski, I couldn’t imagine skiing independently on my own pair of skis. But after a week of skiing three hours a day, the miracle happened. I am now as good on skis as I was before, and the joy is immense. The Gotoski is an incredible tool for regaining confidence and rediscovering the pleasure of skiing. A big thank you to the entire team and the inventor!

My son is autistic, and it is very difficult for him to stay focused and understand instructions. The Gotoski was a true revelation for him.
Tears of joy rolled down his dad’s and sister’s cheeks when they could finally ski together.
Today, his dad takes him down the slopes, and we ski as a family across the entire La Plagne area — it’s an incredible experience for all of us.
What a fantastic invention!
